Seven years after Johnny’s death, Laeticia Hallyday still struggles with debt. Debts “colossal” which she tries to repay as best she can. But where is she in the process?

Laeticia Hallyday facing Johnny’s debts

If he left the memory of a loving and present father and husband, Johnny did not leave without leaving some burdens to his widow. Thus, we learn that the latter is now working hard to repay the debts of the deceased. Debts which amount to around 33 million euros.

To pay, in part, this sum, Laeticia put the singer’s enormous villa, located in Marnes-la-Coquette, up for sale. A property estimated at 10.5 million euros and in which he died in 2017. Unfortunately, the latter has still not found a buyer. A real disappointment for the woman who has, for the moment, only repaid a third of her late husband’s debt.

If she never stops praising Johnny’s qualities and cannot get over his death, Joy and Jade’s mother nevertheless emphasizes the extent to which this debt « colossal » weighs on him.

12 million euros already reimbursed

In a report broadcast this June 20 on NRJ12we have obtained more details on this subject. “As we speak, we know that of the 33 million euros, approximately 12 million have been reimbursed to the State”, explains Fabien Lecoeuvre. Laeticia should take no less than 10 years to repay the entire amount.

She also spoke on the set of BFMTV. “I am committed to repaying Johnny’s debt, which is a complicated, dizzying, enormous, colossal tax debt. […] Johnny left me a burden”, she laments. She specifies: “Part of the discussions are with the United States, because we paid them a large sum of taxes”.

A question still arises: why is the property in Marnes-la-Coquette not selling? For a luxury real estate specialist interviewed by Closer, the reason is simple. “This problem is not linked to the real estate market which is not suffering from the crisis in Marnes-la-Coquette, but to the property itself. People who want to buy a property in this area are looking for discretion and do not want to be exposed to the light by purchasing Savannah. On the other hand, its particular style does not appeal to everyone and this house is not at all functional. On the other hand, its park is magnificent”he analyzes.
