Bolivia will become one of the partners of the BRICS group. The said announcement was made by Celinda Sosa, Bolivian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during COP29 in Baku, after receiving an official invitation.

The country thus intends to free itself from the strict conditionalities which have historically characterized development aid and which, according to the head of Bolivian diplomacy, have contributed to keeping certain countries in poverty.
Bolivia's participation in this emerging group is part of a broader strategy of diversification of international partnerships.
The Andean country intends in particular to strengthen its cooperation with the nations of the Global South, illustrating its desire to actively participate in the reconfiguration of global economic balances.
Several countries will join BRICS as partners
At the recent Kazan summit, several other nations were also approached to join the group as partners, including Uganda, Algeria and Nigeria.
The BRICS also invited Turkey to join their circle as a partner state.
This invitation represents a strategic step for Ankara, which officially submitted its candidacy last September, as confirmed by Yuri Ushakov, Kremlin advisor.
Minister Bolat underlines the importance of this opportunity, which will allow his country to strengthen its cooperation with the main global economic platforms.
