The Couffoulésien motorcycle club is organizing, for its 10 years of existence, a day of gathering of road bikers, on June 23.

“The day begins with a 140 km route on biker roads,” says Alain Pierrat, president of the club. Biker roads, but what are they? “We choose a circuit with bends and curves” explains Alain.

The winding roads allow you to enjoy driving and handling the motorcycle through successive turns. “Nothing is more boring than the monotony of highways,” assures the president. This day is part of the departmental road safety plan.

The members of the association take advantage of the morning circuit to work on technical skills and safety while enjoying driving. In groups of 10, one biker takes turns leading the group for around ten kilometers and listens to the comments resulting from the observations of the other bikers. “We are not motorcycle school instructors and do not claim to be.

It’s just a transmission of some basics. » In the afternoon, a handling area is open to the general public with motorcycles from 125 cm3 in the parking lot of Intermarché, one of the partners. A Centaure trainer, also a partner of the operation, is present on site for a learning time with maneuverability exercises, slalom practice, braking training, etc.

With 35 members to its credit, the association organizes outings combining the pleasure of driving and tourism several times a year. “Motorcycling is a passion for us, we are committed to reconciling pleasure, tranquility and respect for the highway code” concludes the president, a former motorized policeman, founder of the club and with as many emotional attachments to motorcycles as ever. .
