Reduced greenhouse gas emissions

THE greenhouse gas emissions (GES) in France have fallen by 5.3% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from Citepa, a non-profit association working for reliable information on GHGs and pollutants.

By 2023, GHG emissions had fallen by 5.8% compared to the previous year.

This quarterly drop in emissions is explained by a reduction in all major emitting sectors (energy production, buildings, industry, transport).
