“It’s not that I denigrate money but…”: the strange reaction of Pierre, the maestro of NOPLP, after exceeding the 150,000 euros mark

This Wednesday, June 12, Pierre, the maestro of Don’t forget the lyrics on France 2, exceeded the symbolic milestone of 150,000 euros. A sum whose importance he has difficulty realizing.

It is not only in The 12 strokes of noon that the candidates achieve feats and pocket crazy prize pools. The participants of Do not forget the lyrics also have something to impress Nagui. This is the case of Pierre, the reigning champion of the France 2 show. Since May 13, the SVT professor has had a string of victories and winnings in the game which consists of guessing the lyrics of songs.

This Wednesday, June 12, the maestro even crossed the symbolic milestone of 150,000 euros by reaching the 168,000 euros in prize pools, in just 27 victories. A great journey for the participant who did not think he would go this far in the competition and above all win so much money. Yet just like Emilien, the midday master of TF1, Pierre has a strange reaction when he talks about his incredible prize pool.

Asked by 7 Days TV, the maestro even made disturbing confidences. “When I reach 43,000 euros in 5 victories, it’s an incredible start, it was already huge. And afterwards, it’s true that I don’t realize the amount of money. It’s not that I’m denigrating the money I won, but it’s a bit more like extra points to earn to go to the Masters“, he explained, far from counting the euros after each recording of Do not forget the lyrics.

“There is a sum of money, but I don’t realize the amount, he continued. At 117,000 euros already, I found it so enormous that I didn’t realize it. And when I exceed 150,000 euros, I think I still don’t realize that I’ve reached a milestone (laughs). Even when Nagui talks to me at already 117,000, about going up to 150,000, I tell myself that it is ambitious for me (laughs).” For the moment, Pierre therefore prefers to concentrate on his objective: having a ticket to participate in the next Masters of the program.
