As part of the exploitation of the Offshore (Lixus and Rissana) and Onshore (Loukos) licenses, the President and CEO of Chariot Limited, Adonis Pouroulis, took stock of the energy potential of the “Dartois” prospect where the OBA well -1 was recently drilled (Ghard region, editor’s note), recalling the circumstances in which a new additional partnership was concluded in Morocco.

During his statement, the CEO of Chariot Limited said he was delighted with the success achieved thanks to the Onshore drilling campaign of the OBA-1 well, stressing that the objective set this year by the company consists of implementing a new program offshore drilling on the Lixus license, referring to the development project of the ”Anchois” gas development project. In this regard, Mr. Pouroulis indicated that the group he chairs plans to increase resources to nearly 30 billion cubic meters. Indeed, all the attention of the presidency of Chariot Limited is focused on the finalization of investment decisions concerning the exploitation of the Anchois field, as well as on the implementation of the plans already established for the Onshore Loukos license.

The intervention of the CEO of Chariot Limited was an opportunity to review the various highlights of 2023, in particular the finalization of the design and engineering studies Front end engineering design (FEED) for the Anchois gas development project registered on the Lixus offshore license in Morocco, the conclusion of the partnership with Vivo Energy to develop the gas supply markets for industries, the approval of the environmental and social study for Anchois, the partnership agreements sealed with Energean plc ( company listed on the London stock exchange on the FTSE-250, editor’s note) for the exploitation of the two Offhsore licenses, and with which Chariot Limited carried out a transaction of around $10 billion in April 2024.

According to the presidency of Chariot Limited, the projections established by the company relating to the exploitation of Offshore permits (Lixus and Rissana) will be focused on the expansion and implementation of the Anchois project, the use of the Stena Forth drilling vessel under the agreement signed with the company Stena Drilling, and the drilling of the evaluation and development well in the third quarter of 2024. However, the possibility of drilling an additional well is not ruled out, this player understands British company active in oil and gas exploitation.

As for Onshore licenses, Chariot Limited recalls that a new license (Loukos) was granted to it in July 2023. The drilling campaign which made it possible to drill the RZK-1 well on the Gaufrette prospect and the OBA-1 well on the Dartois prospect, led to the identification of gas potential on this last well. It is in this sense that ”OBA-1 was cased and cemented with the production valves installed for a well test and its potential use as a future production well,” Chariot Limited reports.
