Voters in France and 20 other European Union countries are called to the polls this Sunday to elect their deputies to the Strasbourg Parliament.

The ballot, which opened on June 6 in the Netherlands, should make it possible to designate for five years the 720 members of the European Parliament from the 27 member countries of the EU.

Projections from polling institutes in Europe predict a strong increase in far-right groups following the elections.

THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

12:00 p.m.: Participation in the European elections stood at 19.81% at midday, a very slight increase compared to the 19.26% recorded in 2019 at the same time.

11:30 a.m.: Raphaël Glucksmann, head of the Socialist Party-Public Square list, voted in Paris.

11:00 a.m.: François-Xavier Bellamy, head of the Les Républicains list, voted in Versailles, in Yvelines.

10:34 a.m.: Valérie Hayer, head of the Need for Europe list, voted in Laval, in the department of Mayenne.
