This week, Alan published the financial results for its third quarter of 2024. At first glance, the numbers seem pretty good: 680,000 members signed across more than 30,000 companies in , Belgium, Spain, an upcoming opening on the Canadian market and an annualized recurring turnover of 475 million euros.

If we don't look too much at their net result which is -44.6 million euros and if we ignore their umpteenth fundraising – series F led by Belfius – the company ticks the boxes from success to the start-up nation. However, in this ecosystem where more is always needed, Alan must stand out. And it is on the side of artificial intelligence that she hopes to find her account.

Mo, a health assistant powered by AI

This November 5, the insurtech therefore invited the ecosystem of which it is part to unveil functionalities added to its platform: “shop”, “walk”, “mo”. The most interesting is certainly Mo. It is a health assistant powered by artificial intelligence integrated into the medical chatbot that Alan already proposed. After an initial test phase, Mo is now available, as announced by one of the founders of the start-up, Jean-Charles Samuelian-Werve.

The idea is simple: provide recommendations in real time, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Why this specific niche? Because each message sent by Mo is verified by a health professional within fifteen minutes. Indeed, users have the possibility of starting a discussion with Mo or of speaking directly to a doctor, he specifies.

If they choose to talk with Mo, a check is still carried out by a health professional afterwards. A way like any other to place safeguards to avoid errors like Whisper, the voice recognition tool developed by OpenAI and popular with the health sector in the United States.

On the patient side, Alan's manager indicates that 81% of them agree to speak with Mo (out of 1,200 conversations since July 2024). On the doctors' side, 93% of discussions are rated as good or excellent. “Our vision is to make it a healthcare companion that creates the link between you and healthcare professionals,” ambitions Jean-Charles Samuelian-Werve.
