PSV once again proved to be unbeatable at home. With Johan Bakayoko and Matteo Dams in the starting line-up, the Dutch home team took a comfortable 2-0 lead before half-time.

Bakayoko also proved to be invaluable in the attractive final phase with an absolute gem. Girona had to leave the field with shame on their cheeks after a fourth own goal this campaign: 4-0.

The goal mill was also running at full speed in Bratislava. After the home team – with compatriot Siemen Voet at the kick-off – surprisingly took the lead, Dinamo Zagreb attacked mercilessly. The score ended up being 1-4 after a one-sided match.

PSV – Girona: 4-0
Slovan Bratislava – Dinamo Zagreb: 1-4

Owngoal Girona: 4-0

Ai, ai, ai, Girona. With a fourth own goal in this Champions League campaign, things slide further into the depths. After a shot by Saibari, Krejci runs in: 4-0.

Bakayoko does it: 3-0!

Second time lucky? After Saibari, Bakayoko also seems to score. The Red Devil dribbles in and slides past two defenders. To conclude his action, he also shoots the leather perfectly into the short corner. But now the VAR also has to check … This time it is a prize: 3-0.

Saibari scores, but goal disallowed

Cabinet piece by Ismael Saibari. The newly arrived Belgian with Moroccan roots is a guarantee for a spectacle and once again lets his excellent feet do the talking. After a one-two with De Jong, he dribbles excellently past three defenders and hits the ball hard into the corner.

But the party is short-lived. The VAR has seen that Saibari has placed his foot directly on an opponent’s foot during the dribble: disallowed!

The fourth for Zagreb

End of story for Slovan Bratislava at home. Dinamo puts together a new counter where Marko Pjaca can release his buddy Sandro Kulenovic on the edge of the large rectangle. The striker turns away excellently and aims the ball perfectly into the far corner: 1-4.

Exit Noa Lang

A flashy Noa Lang forces a red card for Martinez. The Girona captain drops his foot after another dribble from the Dutchman and receives his second yellow. With eleven it was already difficult for the visitors, with ten it seems to have become a “mission impossible”.

Lang has to leave the field injured himself.

Certainty for Zagreb: 1-3

Want to book in Bratislava? After some hot-button football, the ball bounces to Dinamo Zagreb striker Sandro Kulenovic. It may be the easiest goal of his career, but it goes smoothly within 1-3.

This should always have been the death knell. Tillman continues well after a good check and seems to present Luuk De Jong with the 3-0 in bite-sized form. But from barely two meters from the goal, the Dutch PSV captain smacked the post.

RUST

The four teams enter the locker room. After a difficult start, PSV eventually dominated against Girona. Tillman in particular had a good first half with a goal and an assist. Bakayoko and co. can thus rest with a 2-0 lead.

In Bratislava we saw a blitz start from both teams. After just five minutes, the home team scored the opening goal, but before half an hour Dinamo Zagreb scored the score: 1-2.

PSV on top: 2-0

After the assist there is also the goal for Tillman. The PSV player is given far too much space and is allowed to simply push his way to the goal. Although De Jong is waving his arms, Tilman simply drives the ball into the goal: 2-0.

Dinamo Zagreb comeback: 1-2

Up and about it. Dinamo Zagreb has taken the measure of Bratislava. After a good counterattack, Pjaca wonderfully aims the ball at the head of Sucic, who can only head it into the net: 1-2.

Panna van Noa Lang

Noa Lang also makes the audience chuckle. The ex-Club Bruggeling is often on the ball and searches for his opponent in a known way. He misleads everyone with a feint maneuver and then sneakily taps the leather through his opponent’s legs.
