The forum with the theme “Multipolar Platform – forming new growth centers” is taking place from June 5 to 8 in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia, with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, top leaders of countries from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe and 15,000 delegates representing governments and businesses, international organizations… from more than 100 countries and territories.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed the coherence of Vietnam’s foreign policy and the country’s active participation in international cooperation frameworks and initiatives for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He stressed the importance of cooperation based on the principles of equality, mutual benefits, mutual respect, respect for the United Nations Charter and international law. Cooperation must be an open and inclusive mechanism that encourages the participation of countries, taking into account the level of development and characteristics of each party and ensuring environmental sustainability, social harmony and economic efficiency.

Three proposals

The leader highly appreciated President Putin’s initiative to link regional economic integration processes, including the Eurasian Economic Union and ASEAN, to create cooperation that benefits all parties. In order to increase connectivity and economic ties between countries in the Eurasian region, the Deputy Prime Minister gave three proposals.

First, international transport corridors from East to West and North to South must be developed, linking transport projects implemented in Russia with the ASEAN Connection Plan and other cooperation frameworks. regional.

Second, trade and investment cooperation must be strengthened to continue to open markets, increase investment, remove barriers and facilitate trade and the movement of people and businesses. Vietnam is ready to serve as a bridge to promote cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and ASEAN and hopes to build a free trade agreement between the two sides.

Third, cooperation in green transformation and digital transformation should be promoted, as it is an inevitable trend in the world and a strategic choice to ensure the future of countries. The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister proposed that countries ahead in this process share experiences and support developing countries, including Vietnam, in building political mechanisms, attracting resources, applying technology, the development of digital infrastructure, green infrastructure and the training of high-quality human resources.

Tran Luu Quang encouraged the Vietnamese and Russian business communities to increase exchanges and further promote priority areas such as goods trade, high-tech scientific research products, renewable energy and digital transformation, transformation green and education.

Finally, he affirmed that the Vietnamese government always supports the business world.
