According to the newspaper Markthe victim was locked upstairs in his house when emergency services intervened and transported him to hospital. Her sister-in-law, elderly and ill, and who lived in the house with her, was on the ground floor when the floods occurred. Unfortunately, she did not survive.
Trapped in his car
Spanish media also report a second unexpected rescue, that of another elderly woman, stuck in her vehicle since the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.

The authorities did not provide further details about this woman or her state of health. The Provinces only reports that she was transferred to the hospital after emergency services intervened.
