A tribute, a week after the tragedy. This Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:15 a.m., a white march is organized in Vimy (Pas-de-Calais) in memory of Laetitia and her two sons, Naël and Yanis, killed in a road accident on the A26 .
The meeting is set in front of the Mine stadium, where the two boys aged 8 and 10 were members of the US Vimy football club.
A moment of contemplation and solidarity, where each participant is invited to bring a white flower or a candle to “honor their memory”.
Saturday November 16, 2024 at the beginning of the afternoon, the life of this 43-year-old mother and her two children aged 8 and 10 came to a sudden halt. While they were traveling on the A26 motorway in the Calais – Reims direction, their vehicle was struck from behind at the interchange with the A1 motorway in Arrageois.

Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the 3 victims died instantly. The driver of the second vehicle, a 52-year-old Maltese man, was transported in absolute emergency to Lille University Hospital. An investigation into manslaughter was opened by the Arras public prosecutor's office. Contacted, the prosecutor did not respond to our requests at the time of writing this article.
An online fundraiser was launched by the Vimy parents' association and the city's football club, to help the victims' relatives finance the funerals. “The objective is to allow them to offer Naël, Yanis and Laetitia a last tribute imbued with dignity and serenity, without adding an additional financial burden to their grief”indicate the organizers.
Since the launch of the prize pool, nearly 300 people have participated in the online prize pool. It is still possible to participate online, or at the town hall. A ballot box was installed in the lobby of city hall.
