A break that will do the FCC good. The La Charrière players played their last match of the year in the 1st Football League. Chaux-de-Fonniers lost 3-1 on the Monthey pitch on Sunday. Until the 68th minute, the score was still 0-0, but the players from the Montagnes Neuchâteloises conceded three in a quarter of an hour (68th, 74th and 82nd) and let Monthey slip to victory. Thomas Carvalho saved the honor in the 93rd, but too late to get back into the game.
The men of Christophe Droz, who played his last match at the head of the team from the top of the canton, conclude this first part of the championship in the relegation zone. The interim coach will be replaced by the current coach of Inters A of the FCC and former coach of Coffrane, Antonio Baldi. The latter will take over the team on Monday for the winter break and preparation for the second round.
Another match for Coffrane
Philippe Perret’s men traveled to La Sarraz-Éclepens on Sunday for a duel between the 14th and 13th in the 1st League standings. On paper, the gap was not big between the two teams, on the pitch either. Coffrane took the lead in the 20th, thanks to Kenneth Kabuya. The Vaudruziens held on before conceding a penalty in the 68th minute, which allowed the Vaudois to equalize. Finally, the two teams leave each other back to back. This result can be frustrating for the Neuchâtelois who, without this mistake committed within 16 meters, could well have come home with three points and ahead of their opponent of the day in the standings.
FC Coffrane will play its last match of the year at home, next Saturday against Monthey. /yca
