Mother and son tried for murder and torture in Pau: Leila Abaiji and Sofiane Triboulet sentenced to life imprisonment

The verdict fell late this Friday, May 31, 2024 in the trial for the murder of Renaud Leprince. Leila Abaiji and Sofiane Triboulet were found guilty of the murder of Renaud Leprince, but also of the acts of torture and barbarity committed on the victim. Both were sentenced to the maximum sentence, that is to say life imprisonment with a security sentence of 18 years. Attorney General Orlane Yaouanq had requested life imprisonment for the mother and son. A security sentence of 22 years was required for Leïla Abaiji. For Maxime Triboulet, it was 18 years old.

Mother and son accuse each other

Leila Abaiji and Sofiane Triboulet were tried for murder and acts of torture and barbarity against Renaud Leprince. The body of this man was discovered on October 16, 2020 in Pau near Parc Beaumont, in an apartment on Avenue Léon Say. The mother and son denied the facts throughout the week and continued to accuse each other.
