Saint-Girons. A day dedicated to disabilities at the media library

This Wednesday from 10 a.m. and throughout the day, Alia Belaid, on civic duty at the Couserans toy library, is offering a disability awareness day. A day organized in close partnership with the toy library and the Mutual Aid Group, GEM-la Popotte as well as other local associations active in the field.

This day will aim to share a friendly moment open to all, completely free, around the theme of disability, in order to make visible these differences to which we no longer pay, or not enough, attention on a daily basis.

Raising awareness of the difficulties encountered by people with disabilities will be addressed through various activities offered to all. In the morning, a time for discussion will be offered through testimonies from people with disabilities or players in the sector. In the afternoon, different board and sports games will allow each participant to put themselves in a situation. Experiences that will lead able-bodied people to share similar sensations with disabled people in order to better perceive the impact and constraints of these disabilities in everyday life. Finally, to close the day, a concert in duo vocals and piano will be offered by Human Pop Fleuri, a pop-jazz group, around a shared snack on the principle of the Spanish inn. A large audience is expected to share this event throughout the day.
