Sunday September 29, an accident quad occurred between Lunéville and Blamont (Meurthe-et-Moselle).
A father was driving the machine with his two children on it when the vehicle overturned. If the two children were not injured, the man was seriously injuredas reported by the gendarmerie.
The father was an alcoholic
Reached by telephone, the Meurthe-et-Moselle gendarmerie specified that during the accident, the two children, aged 14 and 9, and the father were not wearing no helmet. The latter also tested positive for alcohol.
On a winding path, the quad turned over. “The father of the family had a tibia fracture and suffered a head trauma», Adds the gendarmerie. He was hospitalized in Lunéville.
The gendarmerie reminds that the driving of the quad is governed by the highway code. As with motorcycles, wearing a helmet is compulsory and the authorized alcohol limit is 0.5 g of alcohol per liter of blood, or 0.25 mg of alcohol per liter of exhaled air.
