According to Toshi Aoki, the console is mainly aimed at the most invested players, like Minbox or SuzuKube, who do not hesitate to buy high-end accessories like the $100 audio headset, the $200 DualSense Edge, the $600 PSVR2 or the $200 PlayStation Portal. The absence of an integrated disc player, sold separately at $80, also gives them more flexibility between 100% digital and physical, avoiding those who no longer want to clutter their living room with physical games, favoring virtual libraries or subscriptions like PlayStation Plus Premium, to pay the additional cost of a physical player included in the bundle, when the dematerialized versions are not available on the shelves.
These players, already accustomed to investing in premium equipment, are the main target, seeking to maximize their performance including on PS4 games with the PS5 Pro’s boost mode, which optimizes games, even without specific updates.
