An update which should replenish the city’s coffers to the tune of Additional 10,000 euros per year : parking prices will increase in Nemours (Seine et Marne) from the May 1, 2024. “It’s an update, we haven’t increased prices since 2018,” explained the mayor. Valérie Lacroute during the municipal council. It’s our responsibility to seek out revenue, it’s a balancing act.”

20 cents more for an hour

This increase, modest, should in fact not weigh too much on the finances of motorists. The price does not increase, for example, only 10 cents for 30 minutesor 20 cents for one or two hours of parking.

The goal is always to ensure the rotation of the vehicles and to wage war against the buffer cars, the maximum authorized duration is 4 hours, knowing that for this duration, you will have to pay 27 eurosor the price of the fine, renamed “post-parking package”.

And if you forget to use the parking meter, it will cost you 2 euros more.

It would not be responsible not to increase them

Valérie Lacroute

This increase was no longer opposed during the municipal council vote: “I don’t like the principle of increasing for the sake of increasing,” declared Volkan Algul. I don’t see why we’re doing it, when we have a city center that’s in bad shape, a Champ-de-Mars car park very busy with working people. We should instead leave prices to motivate people to come and do their shopping in the city center.” Response from Ms. Lacroute: “We are in the classic logic of a municipality which offers services, with increasing costs. It would not be responsible not to increase them, nor would it be fair. There is the Champ-de-Mars and the Victor-Hugo quay to park for free. You can come and do your shopping in Nemours without paying for parking, and I remind you that the goal is to ensure vehicle rotation.”

Ahamada Mfoihaya de Nemours Green Our Futurefor his part would have preferred that the 40 free minutes offered, and maintained, were increased to one hour.

New prices from May 1st

– 30 minutes: €0.50 (compared to €0.40)
– 1 hour: €1.00 (compared to €0.80)
– 1h30: €1.80 (compared to €1.50)
– 2 hours: €2.20 (compared to €2)
– 2 hours: €3.20 (compared to €3)
– 3 hours: €4.50 (compared to €4)
– 3:30 a.m.: €14 (compared to €12)
– 4 hours (maximum duration): €27 (compared to €25)
– Post-parking package €27 (compared to €25)
– Monthly subscription €30 (compared to €25)

Electric recharging goes to 3 euros

Note that these rates remain in the low average of cities in the sector, cheaper than in Fontainebleau (2.20 euros per hour in the orange zone) or in (1.20 euros per hour in the orange zone) .

The city collects 220,000 euros in parking revenue each year. And it is not thanks to electric charging stations that it will save money. The two terminals of the Hippolyte Bayard car park and the two to come from Champ-de-Mars will display the price of 3 euros per hour (compared to 2 euros until now): “The goal is not to lose money. I remind you that the rate in Fontainebleau is 6 euros per hour. A price, this time, that Guillaume Cazauran, concerned about the city’s finances, judged “much too low”.
