Distributed in two hundred Intermarché stores in the Nouvelle Aquitaine and Occitanie regions, these beers can cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

A famous white beer “with citrus notes” actually contains antifreeze fluid. According to the official Rappel Conso website, a check detected the accidental presence of ethylene glycol in the 1664 Blanc beer sold in packs of 12 25 cl bottles. These products manufactured by the brewer Kronenbourg were sold in nearly two hundred Intermarché stores in the Nouvelle Aquitaine and Occitanie regions between April 3 and 10.

Ethylene glycol, which is a chemical compound used in particular as antifreeze in car coolant, makes this beer unfit for consumption. Its absorption can cause nausea, dizziness, vomiting and abdominal pain.

These packs of beer have been the subject of a recall since Thursday, and consumers are invited to return them to the points of sale where they purchased them.
