Estimated losses: between €25,000 and €30,000. On the night of Thursday April 25 to Friday April 26, shortly after midnight, the boutique train model makinglocated in the train station Pontivy in the Morbihanis broken into.

Brands known around the world

The criminals (probably two) pass on the other side of the railway tracks. Arriving on the platform, they use a “magic key” to pick the lock and enter the premises via the back door.

In the store, they steal model trains from foreign brands known throughout the world, exhibited in particular in windows (not broken). Also, they grab stacks of boxes, and even collector’s models. “They even checked some boxes to see if they were empty. They took the most expensive products,” emphasizes Ronan Brocard, store manager.

A priori, the operation lasted less than 15 minutes, with nine round trips.

There criminal identification squad was present on the morning of Friday April 26, 2024. An investigation is underway at the Lorient public prosecutor’s office.

The store remains open

Since then, Ronan Brocard and his daughter have carried out the inventory, to know exactly the number of miniatures stolen, and to report it to the gendarmerie.

The model railway shop remains open. “We are not going to let ourselves be defeated. We must recover from this ordeal,” says the manager.
