They move up to him, he lowers the window, letting out a strong smell of alcohol. There are empty flasks on the passenger seat. But the driver storms off to flee the police check. The police note his plate but do not engage in a chase, to avoid an accident.

He brags live about having lost the police

When returning to the police station, deputy police officers who listen to this story immediately think of an account that they saw on the social network Tik Tok, where a young man posts videos of himself getting drunk while driving in the streets of Périgueux, with flasks of vodka and rum. He has 8,500 subscribers.

The patrol officers recognize the driver of the Opel. Luckily, the “Tiktoker” is actually making a “live”, a live video. He even boasts of having escaped police control! By watching the video, the police recognize the place where he is: avenue François Mitterrand, in Boulazac. The patrol rushes to the spot and arrests him.

He filmed himself to “feel less alone”

Placed in police custody, the 28-year-old, resident of Coulounieix-Chamiers, is measured at 1.3 grams of alcohol in the blood, almost three times the authorized limit. He admits everything, but he swears that he did not understand that it was police officers who had ordered him to stop. The patrol was however in uniform, in a screen-printed car.

The young man has been multiplying these “binge-drinking” videos while driving for two months, after trying out culinary test videos, with triangle sandwiches or pizza. He explained to the police that he was filming himself to “feel less alone” And “earn money”. He was summoned to court in June for refusing to comply and driving under the influence of alcohol.
