On the eve of the broadcast of Happy Sunday show, RTL posted an extract from an interview with Jean-Marie Poiré on Instagram. If the 78-year-old director is full of praise for Christian Clavier, whom he describes as “comic genius and great author” or even Josiane Balasko whom he defines as a “great actress”, he does not spare Coluche, whom he describes as “fantastic comic” And “bright” but “dirty c*n in life”. The two actors had already met before Coluche’s death in June 1986 but had not had the opportunity to work together for a film.

Coluche: a man “very bright” but “extremely unfriendly” according to Jean-Marie Poiré

During his appearance on the show What era on 2 on April 27, Jean-Marie Poiré spoke about Coluche: “I found that Coluche was a man of incredible talent, very, very funny, very brilliant, extremely unpleasant in life, at least with me.” He asserted, however, that “went very, very badly” with Coluche during their meeting: “He left with a girl and left me all alone.” The director also recounted Coluche’s unkind gesture towards Josiane Balasko: “I made a film with Balasko called Men prefer big ones, we invited him to a screening, we said we were having dinner afterwards, and he didn’t pay her a compliment. But not a word, even though they were supposedly very friends.”
