Formula 1 | Brown: 2024 F1 season is even better than 2021

What a Formula 1 season we’re having in 2024! With four teams capable of competing for victory in every race now, McLaren CEO Zak Brown believes this season is even more exciting than 2021.

The American, who saw his team take the lead in the constructors’ standings after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with Oscar Piastri’s victory, may have a “biased” opinion but he accepts it.

Between a very close duel between two drivers like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in 2021 or total uncertainty over the name of the winner this year, Brown has made his choice.

“I think this is the best season I can think of in Formula 1 since I’ve been here,” Brown told The Associated Press, who was at the IndyCar season finale in Nashville this weekend.

“2021 was super exciting, but there were only two guys, two good guys. Now you have four good teams in today’s race. And we’re in it too, so maybe I have a little bit of a biased opinion.”

“Having four teams that can win any weekend, and Sergio Perez who was obviously back in form, eight drivers go to Singapore and you think, ‘I don’t know which of these four teams could win. I don’t know which of these eight drivers could win’…”

“I don’t remember Formula 1 having such a level of competitiveness.”
