Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri strongly condemned the Israeli attack that hit Lebanon this afternoon, calling it “a real butchery, but above all a proven war crime.” In a statement responding to the attack, Berri made an urgent appeal to the international community to act immediately to curb the Israeli war machine. He warned that if these attacks continue unchecked, they risk plunging the region into devastating chaos, threatening regional peace and stability.

The Israeli attack targeted several areas of Lebanon, causing the death of several people and injuring more than 2,500. Berri denounced the escalation of Israeli violence, saying that this attack is not a simple violation of human rights, but rather “an act of terror that flouts all moral, legal and humanitarian laws.”

Berri stressed that such actions, far from being isolated incidents, reflect the deep nature of the Israeli occupation. “Their modus operandi is the same: treason, terrorism, and cowardly assassinations, in total contradiction with all ethical and legal norms,” he said.

The Speaker of Parliament called for a strong and immediate international response, saying that “the time for verbal condemnations is over.” He warned that if the international community did not act quickly to contain Israeli violence, the entire region could be drawn into a spiral of destruction.

Berri concluded by offering his condolences to the families of the victims, and sending prayers for a speedy recovery for the injured. “Our destiny is resistance and resilience, with one of two rewards: victory or martyrdom,” he said, reaffirming Lebanon’s determination to defend its territory against aggression.

This urgent appeal comes amid growing tensions in the region, where Israeli military actions threaten to spark a wider conflict, jeopardizing the security and stability of Lebanon and its neighbors.
