The man was arrested this Sunday by the police in the Serrat-d’en-Vaquer area when two fires broke out simultaneously. No evidence has been found to establish his responsibility for these incidents.
The suspect who was arrested this Sunday evening in the Serrat-d’en-Vaquer area, at the time when two fires had just broken out, was finally released this Tuesday morning.
That evening, around 10:30 p.m., around fifty firefighters were mobilized to fight the fire which spread over 8,000 m2. The police officers from the police station’s dog unit, called to provide security, spotted this 31-year-old man, of German nationality, on a bicycle and carrying a backpack containing a lighter and equipment that could be used to start a fire. He was placed in prolonged police custody.

However, while initial investigations have confirmed his presence not far from the fire, no evidence has been found to establish his responsibility in these events. The thirty-year-old has been cleared of any wrongdoing while the police investigation continues. We await the results of the expert reports to confirm the origin of these fires.
