Atlas Lion Othmane El Idrissi is out of the rest of the Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan after sustaining an injury in the first group match against Tajikistan (4-2) on Monday, September 16. The injury affected the external ligaments of his ankle.

According to the doctor of the Moroccan selection, Mehdi El Amrani, who spoke this Tuesday, September 17 via the official YouTube channel of the FRMF, the adventure of the Moroccan international ends because of this injury. He will be away from the field for a period of 4 to 5 weeks.

El Amrani also gave news of Sofiane Bourit, who has been injured in the thigh for two weeks. Bourit is currently in the final stages of treatment and should soon return to the field. However, he will not participate in the next match against Panama but could be ready to face Portugal in the third group match.

In addition, Hicham Dguig’s men occupy the first place in Group E with 3 points, tied with Portugal, world champion, who largely dominated Panama (10-1) during the first day. For their next match, the Atlas Lions will face Panama on September 19 at 4 p.m., in Tashkent, at the Humo Arena.

Otmane Boumezou, Soufian Charraoui and Idriss Raiss El-Fenni scored Morocco’s four goals in the match against Tajikistan, while Samandar Rizomov and Fayzali Sardorov scored Tajikistan’s two goals.
