The former professional cyclist, 37, revealed his state of health on social networks. However, he will be on the microphone to comment on the Grande Boucle, which starts this Saturday June 29 from Florence.

He reassures his community by assuring that he will be, “from this Saturday, back in the France TV peloton for this Tour de France with as much pleasure and joy as ever”. Yoann Offredo, 37 years old, former professional rider (three participations in the Tour de France, one in the Tour of Spain), is now a consultant for France Télévisions.

“Dear friends,” he begins on his Instagram account. “Six weeks ago my life took a different turn. I was told that I had an autoimmune disease that particularly affects my eyes.”

He continues: “I spent time in the hospital environment, discovered the heavy treatments and especially the fight against the disease. Today I am better, I am fighting!”

The 2024 Tour de France starts this Saturday, June 29 and will end on Sunday, July 21, in Nice.
