Niklas Hartweg finished in a strong 8th place in the pursuit in Oberhof. The man from Schwyz, who started the race from 7th position, defended this position for a long time. Only shortly before the end did he have to let Vebjörn Sörum (NOR) overtake him. With three errors, Hartweg showed a solid performance at the shooting range. In the end, 31.8 seconds were missing from the winning time.
A Norwegian trio took the lead. Sturla Lägreid (6th in the sprint), as well as the brothers Tarjei (16th) and Johannes Bö (13th) showed remarkable comebacks. They pushed sprint winner Quentin Fillon Maillet (FRA) into 4th place. Sebastian Stalder showed flawless shooting and was the second best Swiss in 31st place. Jeremy Finello had to go into the penalty loop 6 times and took 34th place.
Jeanmonnot to the third
Lou Jeanmonnot already celebrated her 3rd win of the season. The Frenchwoman, who was only seventh in the sprint on Thursday, raced to the top thanks to just one shooting error. She was 18.1 seconds ahead of Maren Kirkeeide (NOR) at the finish. Elvira Öberg (SWE), who started from position 37, completed the podium in third place.
Amy Baserga had a strong day. The Swiss, who started from 20th position, made it through with just one shooting error and finished eleventh, sniffing out the top 10. This was synonymous with her best career result in a pursuit. Aita Gasparin (23rd) improved slightly, while Lena Häcki-Gross (42nd) and Elisa Gasparin (44th) failed in the competition.
