This morning
Heavy rains occur from Aquitaine to the Channel coasts accompanied by strong winds. Behind the rainy front, clearings are developing in Brittany. Between Provence and the Cévennes, the rains and the wind are increasing. Everywhere else, the weather is dry, but the wind is turbulent, blowing at 90 km/h in Auvergne, Rhône-Alpes, Val de Saône and Franche-Comté.
It is quite mild with 7 to 14°C from Brittany to the Basque country at daybreak, a mildness countered by the wind and rain.
This afternoon
The rain front is advancing quickly. It stretches from the Pyrenees to the Massif Central, in the north and east of the country, accompanied by sustained rains and powerful gusts of 80-100 km/h. In Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur and in the Cévennes, the rains coming up from the Mediterranean bring abundant accumulations under a turbulent wind at 80 km/h. In Rhône-Alpes and Burgundy-Franche-Comté as far as the Alsace plain, the wind is blowing strongly under a sky which is getting heavier with the arrival of rain at the end of the afternoon in these regions.
