A 46-year-old Polish man was tried in Orléans for having entered France illegally and admitted to having traveled back and forth to seek treatment and to see his partner. He was released because his OQTFs had not been translated.
A Pole was tried in immediate appearance this Monday, January 6 in Orléans in the Loiret for having entered France illegally. According to, the Central Republicthis 46-year-old man was checked without papers on December 24 in Eure-et-Loir. Already under two OQTF orders, he was placed in an administrative detention center with a view to being deported, but the measure was deemed irregular and the forty-year-old was able to be released.
He comes back to get treatment and see his partner
A short-term release since he was directly placed in police custody for facts dating back to 2021. During his last conviction for violence, the man was banned from appearing in France and had not respected the measure. This he confirmed during the 2025 hearing. The individual returned several times to France, illegally, to seek treatment and see his partner who lives in Eure-et-Loir.

But his lawyer reminded the court that this Pole does not speak French and that he would simply not have understood the letters from the prefects telling him that he was subject to two OQTFs. The letters had not been translated into Polish and therefore according to the defense, he could not have been aware of these bans on coming to France. Arguments which convinced the courts since he was finally released even though the prosecution had requested six months in prison.
