To mark the 80th anniversary of the discovery of the Auschwitz camp, five documentaries tell the story of the deportation to Auschwitz — only from those who were there, from their perspective, those of young people in occupied Europe.
They all have a number tattooed on their forearm. All were deported to Auschwitz. Everyone has told one day. It was in 2006.
For the 80th anniversary of the discovery of the camp, these five documentaries retrace the history of deportation to Auschwitz through the stories of 44 survivors.
They were born in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Romania, Hungary or France… They will immerse us in their memories of children, adolescents, young adults in occupied Europe until their deportation to Auschwitz.
These inmates of the largest Nazi concentration camp will become witnesses to the extermination of the Jews.
These 44 survivors will tell their stories and those of those who remained there. From this multitude of individual stories will then emerge the picture of an industrial killing center: Auschwitz, absolute symbol of the destruction of the Jews of Europe.
