Météo placed 21 departments on orange alert for violent winds on Monday January 6. In addition to the Rhône and the , affected this Sunday, the disruptions will affect 19 other departments in a diagonal extending from Vendée to the Ardennes.

18 departments will be placed on orange alert for violent winds on Monday January 6: Vendée, Maine-et-Loire, Indre-et-Loire, , Loir-et-Cher, Eure-et-Loir, , the eight departments of Île-de-France, Aisne, , Meuse and Ardennes.

Beware of the violent winds which will hit France this Sunday January 5 around 8 p.m. If, in its previous bulletin, Météo France already warned of strong squalls in 15 departments which were placed on yellow vigilance, two of them were reclassified as orange vigilance: these are the Rhône and the Loire . According to Météo France, these violent winds are the result of a disturbance approaching the Atlantic coasts. The squalls are expected to strengthen during the day with peaks in intensity in the evening from Sunday January 5 to Monday January 6.

Winds up to 120 km/h

According to forecasts from the meteorological service, the winds which will affect the Rhône and the Loire are expected to last until 3 p.m. Monday January 6. The wind could reach values ​​exceeding 90 to 100 km/h. Local values ​​between 110 and 120 km/h are expected. The two peaks in intensity of these violent winds will occur in the evening of Sunday January 5 to Monday January 6 and at the end of the morning-midday as reported by Météo France.

In its latest bulletin, Météo France plans to place a very large part of the country on yellow alert, due to storm Floriane which will hit the northern half of the country. The wind will strengthen in an axis going from Poitou to the with gusts expected at 90 km/h. According to the meteorological service, a change in the level of vigilance (currently in yellow) cannot be ruled out and the situation remains to be monitored.
