The handlers of Cookie and Orka, another Malinois from the brigade, had taken the two dogs early in the afternoon for an outing intended to relax them.

The driver of the vehicle had not seen the dog, who died from the violence of the shock. The Departmental Directorate of the National Police of Tarn (DDPN 81) confirmed the circumstances of this accident, specifying that it was a tragic and unintentional event.
