THE packaging (accumulation of fallen wood during strong gusts of wind) are used to strengthen the banks and to create conditions conducive to the development of the ecosystem such as shelter for fish, amphibians or insects.

The census of spawning grounds was made on Saturday December 21st. The volunteers had the satisfaction of discovering that the salmonids still colonize Loysance and Tronçon.

Salmon is, however, a endangered species with, as probable causes, overfishing and the effects of climate change.

The ban on salmon fishing last November gives volunteers in Antrain Gaul hope of encountering this beloved salmonid again.
