Presenter Vincent Lagaf' of the show Bigdil, who made his return this Thursday on RMC Story with 1.8 million viewers, confided on BFMTV this Friday that he had not expected such success.

“I am beyond delighted.” Presenter Vincent Lagaf' is delighted on BFMTV this Friday, January 3, about the success of the return of the show Bigdil in which he participates with Bill the Extraterrestrialplayed by Gilles Vautier.

The new version of the cult game, broadcast this Thursday on RMC Story, attracted an average of 1.8 million viewers, a historic record excluding sports competition for the RMC-BFM group channel.

“This morning, I got up around 9:15-9:20 a.m., I drank my coffee, ate my pain au chocolat (…) and once all that was done, I turned on my cell phone,” explains Vincent Lagaf’. “I saw 1 million 8, I said to myself ‘that’s not true’”.

“I was wondering ‘did we do the right thing?’”

Yet “not for a second” did he expect such success. The presenter describes “being very tired” after “having slept very poorly” due to “stress” and the “questions that were bothering him”.

“I was wondering 'did we do the right thing'”, he declares, however deep down hoping to “make a million at least for the premiere”.

Vincent Lagaf' thus welcomes the “team success” behind the return of this program which marked the years 1998 to 2004 while finding it “pleasant” to say that “20-25 years later”, it “still holds up the blow”.

“I remember when the Bidgil closed around 20 years ago, a lot of people were very disappointed,” he recalls. “I told myself that we would have to be able to resume the show where we left it” without “changing a comma”.

If he accepted after the fourth proposal to relaunch the adventure, it was “on the condition sine qua non” that he finds the “same sets, accessories, music” and “especially Gilles Vautier”.

The latter, after playing Bill the Extraterrestrial for a few moments by telephone on BFMTV before finding his real face, was confident about the success of the show. “I said ‘we’ll make a million’, this show was so important,” he assures. “I should have bet.”

For the second broadcast on January 10 of this “family show” which “is aimed at everyone”, “logic would dictate” that the audiences “decrease a little” according to Vincent Lagaf'. But at least the presenter is relieved: “I had the pressure, now it’s done”.
