Below seasonal standards at the end of the week

After a gloomy November 11 over a large part of the country, temperatures will begin to drop on Tuesday with maximums between 8 and 16°C. In New Aquitaine, we should not exceed 10°C in Charente, Charente-Maritime and Dordogne, 11°C in and Lot-et-Garonne, 12°C on the Landes coasts and up to 13°C in Basque Country. But be careful, the temperatures felt could be lower because of the northerly wind which is about to pick up.

The sky will be very cloudy, with a few drops of rain possible in the north of the region. Flakes could even fall above 1,100 m in the Pyrenees, with 2 to 5 cm of snow, warns Météo Pyrénées. Stormy rains are expected in the South-East, while the sky should be clearer in the northern half.

The cooling will be even more marked in the South-West on Wednesday morning. The minimums will be between 3 and 7°C but the values will rise again in the afternoon, sometimes up to 15°C, thanks to generous sunshine. Snow is still expected to fall in the Pyrenees and the Alps, above 1,200 meters. In Languedoc-Roussillon, vigilance will be required, with significant amounts of rain expected, warns La Chaîne Météo.

On Thursday, the sun should shine across the country. In the absence of cloud cover, temperatures are expected to drop further in the South-West, with between 1 and 6°C in the morning and between 10 and 13°C in the afternoon. At the end of the week, temperatures could fall below seasonal norms, according to La Chaîne Météo.
