The 2024 edition of the Diagonale des fous was won by Frenchman Mathieu Blanchard, Friday October 18. For his first participation, he beat his first pursuer, the Swiss Jean-Philippe Tschumi, by more than 40 minutes. The American Ben Shiman completes the podium. What a performance from Mathieu Blanchard. The 36-year-old Frenchman won the Diagonale des fous this Friday, October 18 on the occasion of his first participation. The native of () covered the 175 km and some 10,000 meters of elevation gain in 23 h 25’02”.

He was well ahead of his first pursuer, the Swiss Jean-Philippe Tschumi. The Swiss, already on the podium last year (3e) finished 43’30” behind the winner, losing a lot of time at the end of the course. The podium is completed by the American Ben Dhiman, who is more than an hour behind Blanchard.
