At 18, Anthony Colette decided to join a dance school, a late start compared to the other students who had all been practicing this sport since childhood. But thanks to his perseverance, the dancer managed to quickly climb to the top and made a significant place for himself within the program Dancing with the stars. The 29-year-old artist returns to his source of motivation: “I watched this show when I was young (Dancing with the stars Editor’s note) (…) I was passionate about this show and in particular by a dancer who is in this show, called Maxime Dereymez”he explains to Faustine Bollaert this Tuesday, October 15, before adding about the dancer: “I found him super classy, I find it magnificent to make women dance“. Anthony Colette finally became the colleague of the man he admired: “I met Maxime, I was like crazy. I told him, not right away, but later, he was really touched. He was one of the people who made me want to do this job.“, he specifies about their meeting.

Having become close to the man he admired, Anthony Colette then shared his feelings with him. During the final of Dancing with the starsin April 2024, the dancer won the thirteenth edition of the dance competition, alongside his sidekick Natasha St-Pier. A dream come true for the 29-year-old young man who was playing his sixth season and who wanted to thank his first source of inspiration: “This year, I quickly talked about it when I won. I just cried, I said it on the microphoneI thank him (Maxime Dereymez Editor’s note), I don’t know how it happens anymore, I have a hole… And he had tears in his eyes, he was touched, because I was thanking him, because ‘you are one of the people who inspired me’. However, we don’t have the same dance style at all, but that was one of the triggers“, he explains on the set of It starts today. After this anecdote, Maxime Dereymez gave him a nice surprise while passing by the set. Questioned by Faustine Bollaert, he praised his friend: “The fact that he succeeds in realizing his dream, that me or the show was able to inspire him is super flattering, it’s touching. (…) He managed to stand out.”. Maxime himself had won the competition of Dancing with the stars at the age of 19, alongside singer Shy’m.
