On the heights of (Finistère), in the Braden district, residents are used to coming across pairs of young women, in tracksuits, with long hair pulled back. These are the players of the Quimper Volley 29 club who leave their accommodation to go to the sports hall. Among the players, twin sisters: Dariia and Mariia Kaplanska.

Pronounce Dasha and Masha. They left their country, Ukraine, for far-west of , Finistère. They just celebrated their 21ste birthday. Leaving Ukraine is a first even if they have already worn the blue and yellow colors of Ukraine at the national level abroad.

They leave behind them, a country at war, a family, a city, Odessa. The twin sisters now live in Quimper. To continue their dream which is a reality: practicing high-level sport. The club is part of the A league, the women’s elite. Its workforce is very cosmopolitan: in addition to another compatriot (Diana Meliushkyna), a Czech, an Austrian, a Puerto Rican, two Finns…

The sisters left Ukraine for lack of a club. They played at VK Bukovynka in Chernivtsi (west) and SC Prometey in Dnipro, both at the same time. They play the same position: attacker-receiver. The only small detail to distinguish them is that Dasha has a scar on her forehead. She is also the one who expresses herself the most.
