Train regulars will have to find another way to get around or stay at home this Thursday, October 17, 2024. Storm Leslie is approaching, and the departments of Lot, Tarn and Aveyron are placed on orange rain-flood alert “with the start of the event at 12 p.m. local for the Lot and at 2 p.m. local for the Tarn and Aveyron”, specifies Météo France. Very heavy rain is expected. Consequence: SNCF decides to cut several railway lines “for at least the whole day of October 17.”
Five lines cut, no replacement bus
Five lines are completely cut, north and east of Toulouse:
- Toulouse – Rodez
- Toulouse – Mazamet
- Rodez – Brive
- Montauban – Cahors – Brive
- Toulouse- Capdenac-Figeac – Aurillac
The SNCF specifies that no road substitution will be put in place and that traffic will only resume after reconnaissance operations and safety checks. Travelers who had to take a train with compulsory reservation that is not running may be reimbursed.
Moreover, because of a malicious act towards Brax (Haute-Garonne), west of Toulouse, train traffic is still very disrupted between the pink city and Auch (Gers) at least until October 22.
