Discover our tops and our flops following ’s victory against (1-0) this Sunday on the pitch at the Stade de la Meinau during the closing match of the 6th day of Ligue 1.

The tops

Moreira broke the deadlock

Diego Moreira knew how to seize his chance. Aligned at the right-back position, the usual winger has not forgotten his offensive reflexes and this proved very useful in Strasbourg to achieve this victory against OM. Indeed, it was with his only shot of the match that the Portuguese was able to open the scoring in favor of the Alsatian club. Comfortable in the first half, he had to hold on after the break against a relaunched Marseille team. He gave way to Junior Mwanga, with a more defensive profile, for the last minutes of the match.

Rulli at the rendezvous

In a very complicated evening for OM, Geronimo Rulli was once again brilliant. With no less than five saves, the Argentine goalkeeper saved his team from an even bigger snub on the Meinau pitch, he who was not necessarily helped much by his defense, especially during the first 45 minutes. In particular, he knew how to get into the heads of the Strasbourg attackers to put them in difficulty in front of his cage. However, he was unable to do anything about the decisive strike which decided the fate of this meeting.

Andrey Santos precious

Aligned in front of the Strasbourg defense, Andrey Santos was able to be effective in a sentry role. Very precise in the recovery, he did not avoid duels and knew how to get the ball from Marseille’s feet when necessary, erasing his rare errors which made him lose control of the ball. The Brazilian formed with Ismaël Doukouré a very solid pair of midfielders to respond to the challenges imposed by OM throughout this meeting.

The flops

Wahi transparent again

The situation is not getting better for Elye Wahi. Once again established at the forefront by Roberto De Zerbi this Sunday, the former striker produced a very insufficient performance. Beyond not being in a shooting position, he was deprived of balls as much as he sank in duels and was very reluctant to dribble. After an hour of wandering on the pitch, the French international hopeful gave way to Jonathan Rowe, who was not more successful.

Emegha not sharp enough

Emanuel Emegha did not achieve the performance his coach could have expected. At the forefront of the Strasbourg attack, the Dutch striker was insufficiently precise in front of goal, failing twice against Geronimo Rulli. He was also shaky in the duels even though he didn’t have many balls to play. For the end of the match, he gave way to Sekou Mara, who was able to bring freshness to the Racing attack.

Harit little in sight

It was not the evening of Marseillais, but also for Amine Harit. At the heart of OM’s game, the Moroccan international delivered a performance that was far from convincing. He was timid against Djordje Petrovic’s cage and was not to his advantage in the duels. This did not escape Roberto De Zerbi, who decided to replace him with Neal Maupay in order to give a boost to a long-moribund attack, which did not prove to be a success.
