Laptops continue to take the AI turn at Samsung. After the announcement of the Galaxy Book5 series, the manufacturer is taking advantage of CES 2025 in Las Vegas to extend its range of PCs designed for artificial intelligence. It presents the Galaxy Book5 Pro and Galaxy Book5 360, two models equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors (series 2) and with NPUs of up to 47 TOP.
Samsung touts an AI ecosystem with Galaxy AI
These new computers take advantage of the features of Copilot+ PCs combined with those of Galaxy AI, such as AI Selection. This function allows PC users to carry out searches in a more intuitive way by circling the object, the text or even a QR code to search, specifies Samsung. As on Galaxy smartphones, this involves offering the possibility of carrying out searches on any element visible on the screen.
Samsung also mentions the presence of other “cutting edge features” to integrate these laptops into the Galaxy ecosystem. Among the AI functions, the Galaxy Book5 series includes Remaster to retouch images and improve blurry photos. Samsung also relies on Microsoft tools like Mobile Connecté to provide access to the native Galaxy AI features of a Galaxy phone from the PC. Thus, it is possible to use Instant Translation or the Transcription Assistant on your laptop. Other new features, which will appear during the announcement of the Galaxy S25, will also be available in order to“optimize connectivity between Windows 11 on PC and Galaxy devices”. Other more classic tools are also accessible such as: Nearby devices, Storage sharing, Multi Control, Second screen or even Quick Share.
Promising technical sheets
If Samsung places a lot of emphasis on the user experience and the presence of functions, the manufacturer does not forget to mention the technical sheet of its machines. The Belgian branch of the manufacturer confirms the existence of 16 and 14 inch variants for the Galaxy Book5 Pro, with these Intel Core Ultra 7/5 processors. The amount of RAM varies between 16 GB and 32 GB while the amount of storage varies between 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. Both versions feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen displaying a “3K” definition (2,880 x 1,800 pixels). ) with a variable refresh rate from 48 to 120 Hz. The panels are touchscreen and Samsung mentions the presence of a Vision Booster function which adjusts contrast and colors for working outdoors. The brightness increases to 500 nits on the Book5 Pro.
The 16-inch Galaxy Book5 Pro adds a 76.1 Wh battery while the 14-inch version has a 63.1 Wh accumulator. Both machines claim a battery life of up to 25 hours and the presence of a fast charging function. In particular, it allows you to recharge a 14-inch Galaxy Book5 Pro up to 41% in 30 minutes, both models being delivered with a 65W USB-C power adapter. Finally, the audio part includes four speakers including 38mm woofers with Dolby Atmos technology. Samsung promises deeper bass thanks to these much larger woofers than those of the Galaxy Book4 Pro (18 mm).
