Winter conditions will be in effect on Wednesday across all of Quebec with significant snow accumulations and violent winds which will sweep all areas.
Environment Canada has issued a snow warning for several areas, including Eastern Quebec, which will experience accumulations of up to 30 centimeters of additional snow by Thursday evening.
Thus, sometimes heavy snow will leave a thick white carpet in Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie under gusts of 50 km/h and rather mild temperatures for the period, while on the North Shore, the snow will be followed by rain at times.
In southern Quebec, the federal agency is forecasting another 5 centimeters of snow with blowing snow in places, notably in Montreal and its surrounding areas as well as in Estrie with temperatures of minus 10 degrees.
On the other hand, in western Quebec where it will be colder with temperatures of minus 15 degrees, the situation will be more nuanced with intermittent snow and around 2 centimeters of snow in places, while winds will blow at 40 km /h.
For the day of Thursday, the windy weather will persist with light snow followed by a clearing in southern Quebec, while the central and eastern sectors of the province will still receive 2 to 4 centimeters of accumulations .
