Here is one of the most powerful laptops in the world

Acer unveils its new Predator Helios AI range. Objective: set all cursors to maximum.

There you have it, AMD, Intel and Nvidia presented their new chips. PC manufacturers can now present their new machines incorporating the latest technologies of the moment.

The Acer Predator Helios 18 AI has one goal: to offer one of the most powerful laptops in the world.

Intel and Nvidia on board

Judge its characteristics instead: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor associated with an Nvidia GeForce 5080 or 5090 graphics card, with up to 192 GB of DDR5 (yes 192 GB) and up to 6 TB of PCIe Gen 5 SSD.

The screen will be as good as what's under the hood, with an 18-inch 4K MiniLED 120 Hz panel or a 2560 x 1600 250 Hz miniLED panel with Nvidia Advanced Optimus certification.

The 16-inch version offers a 2560 x 1600 pixel 240 Hz Oled screen.

Even on the connectivity side, Acer doesn't do things by halves: an Intel Killer 1750x Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 Wi-Fi card, as well as an Intel Kill Ethernet E5000B card for the RJ45 port.

With such a chassis, the connectivity has space: two USB Type-A ports on the right, two Thunderbolt ports with HDMI and dedicated power supply on the back, and an RJ45 port, a USB Type-A port and a Full format SD reader on the left, with the 3.5mm jack port.

A hefty bill

As we have now become accustomed to, this type of high-end PC is clearly not cheap.

Acer promises availability from April for the Predator Helios 18 AI with a price starting at 3,499 euros.

The Predator Helios 16 AI, a little cheaper, will arrive in June from 2,499 euros.
