This year, which video games, music albums, films, novels or even comic strips delighted you the most? There were almost three times more of you to answer this question than in 2023 and, thanks to your votes and your testimonials, we were able to draw up a ranking of your favorites.

Approximately 20,000 games were published in 2024. A record. However, while some were developed by gigantic studios, the majority of them were designed by small players in the industry. For them, a single commercial failure is generally enough to force them to close their doors and disappear as quickly as they arrived.

In this context, failures are often spectacular and successes all the more miraculous. This is the case of that of Balatroan independent game developed by a Canadian who calls himself LocalThunk, and which almost no one had heard of a year ago. This delirious card game pretending to take up the rules of poker to better subvert them, not content with having delighted the hearts of journalists from Mondealso climbs to first place in the ranking of readers’ favorite games.
