From December 5 to 8, the 10th edition of the social and worker cinema festival broke a record with 2,034 moviegoers present in the theaters.

An exceptional festival which was proposed by the Clap Actions team, which since July 2018 has given itself the following missions: “To promote the territory and connect its inhabitants, while respecting the 3 labels of the Clap’cin and Essay classification , Research and Discovery, Heritage and Directory, Young audiences”.

Another major action, the 2 festivals, Supporting roles in the foreground, and social and worker cinema: “Which bring positive visibility to Carmaux, victim of the decline of mining activity with the consequence of a rather negative image. However, attracted through the original programming of festivals, certain spectators come back and become loyal”.

Clap’Actions also offers films every month on current themes, with speakers and local associations to exchange and debate.

The penultimate Sunday of the month is breakfast at the cinema, for young and even less young audiences.

Clap’ciné’s attractive prices, and accessibility for people with reduced mobility, are also very positive assets.

In 2025, there are multiple projects: “Double programming for breakfast, a film from 3 years old, and one for 7-8 year olds and beyond, because the received idea of ​​cartoons reserved for children fizzled out”

In project with the Hibernie bookstore, screening of The menstrual revolution, in the presence of Charlène Brault, who speaks in college, a documentary by Fabrice Arfi, journalist at Médiapart, in connection with current events and the release of his book The Third life.

At the suggestion of CaSa, Clap’Actions will screen a film produced jointly by young people and elderly people.

Also planned, participation in the “Art and Sciences” project initiated by a professor from Victor Hugo College. And of course favorite Thursdays.
