The sun shines brightly over almost the entire island from daybreak, this Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Clouds are slow to leave the slopes and summits of the East and South-East. This day will be marked by scorching heat. We expect 36°C towards Saint-Leu and 32 to 35°C in the other coastal towns.
On Monday, the east of the department was copiously rained. This Tuesday morning, “There are only traces of humidity remaining in the east and a final shower early in the morning over Bébour and Takamaka,” note Météo-France Reunion. In the other towns, the weather is nice and quickly very hot.
This afternoon, the interior and the slopes are covered. Showers are expected in the upper parts of the West and South-West. The sky is cloudy, but dry on the heights of La Possession. The coastline remains bright.
The easterly flow is moderate. Maximum gusts of 60 km/h are expected along the North and South coasts. They can reach “70 km/h on the Baril side”.
The temperatures are incandescent. Imagine, meteorologists predict “32 to 35°C on the coast, perhaps even 36°C towards Pont-Mathurin, locally 30°C in the cirques and 22 to 24°C around 2000 meters”. The greatest caution is recommended. Hydrate yourself, and refrain from exercising from mid-morning to late afternoon.
-The sea is generally not very rough. It is choppy in the South-East where a 1.50m trade wind swell is breaking.
