Hotel guests can now stream from their iPhone and iPad

AirPlay is built into Samsung hotel TVs, allowing hotel guests to easily and securely connect their iOS and iPadOS devices to their in-room TV.

By scanning a QR code, guests can privately and securely connect their iPhone or iPad to Samsung hotel TVs [1]. They can stream their favorite shows and movies, listen to their personal playlists, view photos, practice giving presentations, play games and much more in their hotel room.

For security reasons, personal data is never stored and connected devices are automatically erased after departure. Hotel management systems can also be extended with AirPlay technology, making integration easier.

The integration of Apple AirPlay is part of Samsung’s strategy to make the stay of hotel guests as pleasant as possible and to simplify the work of hotel operators. Samsung’s latest hotel TVs feature LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro for better connection, easier management and optimal guest experience.

« Samsung is building a robust, connected ecosystem that makes hotel stay as enjoyable as possible, said Hoon Chung, executive vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung. “ With AirPlay, iPhone and iPad users can easily view their favorite content on the big screen, making them feel more at home. With LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro, hotel management also obtains valuable information to optimize their guests’ stay. »

LYNK Cloud is a complete cloud solution for Samsung hotel TVs. It provides hotel managers and operators with access to personalized content, remote device management and OTT entertainment. LYNK Cloud features an e-commerce platform and ordering system that allows guests to access various interactive services from their room, such as booking hotel services, ordering room service, digital concierge and more. The insights provided by LYNK Cloud allow hotel managers to personalize content and experiences and create more effective promotions – by room or by property.

With SmartThings Pro, hotel managers can better serve their guests in a secure environment. Samsung smart devices [2]such as hospitality TVs, smart signage displays, air conditioning and other IoT devices [3], can be easily connected to SmartThings Pro and managed via a single, simple system: the SmartThings Pro Dashboard. The ecosystem is designed to be easily expanded and integrated. To meet the different needs of hotels, SmartThings Pro also has customizable application programming interfaces (APIs), ensuring seamless connection with existing systems.

[1] Apple AirPlay will first be available on the HBU8000 model and will gradually be supported on other existing models.

[2] Available on Tizen 7.0 or higher.

[3] IoT devices supporting the latest IoT, Matter, and Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) specifications can be connected to SmartThings Pro.
