Source: press release

The BH RS1 has been completely redesigned to be faster and more integrated than ever, while maintaining high levels of comfort to become the most versatile bike in BH’s road range.

The arrival of new versions of the BH Aerolight and the BH Ultralight has brought a new dimension of speed and performance, the main objective of the two models, designed to gain seconds on the clock and shine in all races on the planet . The BH RS1 takes everything learned from these models, and applies it to a bike designed to be comfortable and ergonomic for most riders.

Carbon and integration in the new BH RS1

The BH RS1 benefits from a completely revised carbon frame. For its construction, BH used Performance Carbon Layup carbon, offering the best balance between lightness, comfort and rigidity. The same manufacturing process used in BH competition frames was applied. The HCIM (Hollow Core Internal Molding) system allows you to obtain perfect finishes, not only on the outside of the frame, but also on the inside. This results in reduced weight and improved stiffness.

Integration was also a fundamental pillar in the redesign of the BH RS1. The wiring is entirely internal from the handlebars using the ACR system, with which BH has extensive experience. The seat clamp is also completely concealed and uses an internal clamping system that helps hold the seat post in place without the need for high torque. This is a seat post that also adopts aerodynamic lines.

At the seat tube, it is possible to install the Planck rear lamp kit, which fits perfectly into its lines and is easily installed thanks to a magnetic system. It is an essential accessory for driving safely on the road.

In this line of integration, the BH RS1 has adopted the use of quick wheel releases with hidden levers, the Hidden Quick Levers, which allow tool-free opening while maintaining a clean aesthetic and improving aerodynamics.

For the rest of the frame, we notice the use of an 86mm wide BB368EVO bottom bracket, essential to obtain a design that provides rigidity to the bottom bracket area, a crucial point for all mountain bikes. road.

Aerodynamics at the highest level

The new BH RS1 has adopted aerodynamics as a basic element of its design. The shapes of each tube have been studied to obtain the best aerodynamic efficiency, embodying the Kamm Tail shape used in the tubes of the Aerolight competition model, ensuring that air flows without creating pressure zones. The result is a significant aerodynamic gain, translating into increased speed with the same power applied to the pedals.

The Aero fork has 32mm of wheel clearance and more room to aid airflow. Without forgetting that its shapes give character to the BH RS1 and integrate perfectly with the lines of the rest of the frame.

Essential comfort

We’re talking aerodynamics, integration, carbon… the same aspects that make BH’s most successful race bikes shine. But in this case, the RS1 adopts specific geometry to make its ride comfortable for most users. The front is raised thanks to a taller head tube, which allows for a comfortable position while maintaining a sporty aesthetic.

At the rear, a compromise between agility, rapid reactions and safety was sought. This makes the BH RS1 a bike that combines high performance and comfort. It’s an ideal weapon for long days in the saddle, long-distance events and intense weekend rides.

Prices

The BH RS1 2024 arrives on the market with 4 different configurations, starting at €3,999.
