Oukitel WP52: a compact, robust and 5G compatible smartphone

Oukitel is launching a new rugged smartphone on the market, the WP52, for which there is currently no precise information on availability or price. So far, Oukitel has only communicated the specifications indirectly.

The WP52 seems to be relatively well equipped, since it is a 5G smartphone equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor. The RAM measures 4 GB and is not particularly large, while the internal storage is 256 GB. The internal memory can be expanded using a microSD card, but users will then have to do without a second SIM card. Oukitel uses the Android 14 operating system.

With its 12 millimeters, the smartphone is relatively thin for a robust model. It’s advertised as having the usual triad of IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H certifications, meaning it can be submerged or used in dusty environments without damage. Falls are also considered safe for the smartphone.

The 6.6-inch screen has a resolution of 720 x 1612, which is rather meager, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. An OV48B2Q sensor from OmniVision with a resolution of 48 MP is used to the main camera, while the front camera has a resolution of 8 MP. The device is also equipped with a speaker that can emit up to 90 dB. Authentication is possible thanks to a fingerprint sensor located on the side.

A possible alternative: Buy the Oukitel WP38 on Amazon.
